Brilliant Minds Early Childhood Centre
A boutique Early Childhood Center inspired by Te Whariki's approach to learning at Three Kings.
Our teaching is based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, TeWhariki. We strive to create a welcoming, nurturing and home-like environment that can inspire children. Parents and whanau will be treated as valued community members. We offer a place where children can learn about the foundations of TeAoMaori and TeTiriti O Waitangi, as well as acknowledge Maoris as Tangata Whenua. We provide a rich bicultural environment that encourages children to appreciate New Zealand culture and way of life. We apprize the diversity of cultures at our centre and aim to build respectful relationships between Whanau, Tamariki and our educators. We respect the cultural identity, heritage, and language of all ethnic groups. We ensure that all children have equal learning opportunities, irrespective of their age, ability, race, or ethnicity. We are inspired by Te-Whariki, (2017) which encourages children to be active participants in their learning and develop relationships with their teachers. We believe children have many ways to express themselves. They are encouraged to foster critical thinking by exploration and observation. We encourage our educators to respect a child's choices and value child initiated experiences. Open-ended questions are used to challenge and stimulate ideas. Children can make mistakes and learn by them. The progress of the child's development and learning is documented, displayed and shared with parents. We aspire to build a place of encounter and connection, interaction and Dialogue.
